How we started
After working in the recycling industry for years, ORCA’s CEO Louis Anagnostakos was overcome by the number of costly, pollutive, traffic-causing garbage trucks involved in the collection and disposal of waste. Equally as troubling was the sheer volume of avoidable waste collected each day – he knew change was needed.
In 2011 Louis set his sights on ORCA and saw, with a bit of fine-tuning, its potential to revolutionize the organics industry. Upon acquisition, ORCA was introduced to the Canadian market and quickly expanded throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Europe, Mexico, the UAE, the UK, and Southeast Asia. Today we are proud to offer the ORCA onsite food waste solution globally through a comprehensive network of regional offices, distributors, and partners.
